The chanderi fabric is about to take centre stage on runways soon

Indian textiles have been a big focus at Amazon India Fashion Week since the last few seasons, with multi designer shows centered around themes of India Modern and Benares in the past. This spring/summer 2017, the spotlight is on the fabric of chanderi.

To this end, the Fashion Designer Council of India has worked closely with the weaver clusters that have for decades been supported by the Scindia family of Gwalior. This effort will culminate in the opening show for AIFW, which will have 16 designers highlighting the grace of the chanderi weave.
