Exquisite Art Meets Fashion in the Jewellery Designs
Today, we introduce our master craftsman, Ahsan Sagar, a 45 year old Artist engaged in the making of fashion jewellery in Magul village of Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR in India. He started this work about 5-7 years ago and is a very well respected person in his village.
Having good communication skills, Sagar believes in the philosophy of “Be Good, Do Good, Be One” – be it his work or the work of his team members whom he is mentoring. Having spent considerable amount of time in honing the art of making embroidered fashion jewellery, Sagar feels that now is the time to pass on this skills to the next generations. He mentors about 4 -5 young artisans and teaches them the finesse of this art form.
Another face of Sagar is his social side. His challenges in life have not deterred him from doing things for others. When someone in his village had a medical emergency about 3 years ago and suffered lot of difficulties in reaching the nearest medical centre, Sagar went ahead and purchased a used car and set it up exclusively use of the people of his village in time of emergencies. That is the soul of a good human being.
A soft spoken person, he has made stuff that has been adorned by Bollywood Stars and Fashion Personalities alike. One of his ring was worn by Juhi Chawla,a popular Indian Cinema Actress.
The Zarood team shares a passion for traditional handicrafts, an art form facing tough competition from machine embroideries. Putting a foot into the online world of social entrepreneurship, our main mission was to take traditional and unique Indian art from skilled crafting hands and into the international market.
Today, we continue to preserve India’s nurtured cultural heritage that has spawned over centuries in modern forms to your doorstep.
We identify and work proactively with artisans to develop intricately unique products, creating contemporary designs of a preserved art form at the core of our craftwork. Buying directly from the artisans, selling their creations and shipping straight to customer’s doorsteps.
As a part of our initiative to spark a change, we contribute 2% of every single order to our Social Foundation- Nav Chetna Seva Sansthan. The foundation commits to provide support to the cause of the art forms in India and the associated artisans and endeavour to provide a helping hand in areas like health care insurance, education loans, support for skill development programs, workshops and seminars, funding for equipment maintenance and purchase, etc.
Ahsan Sagar has worked to become a known figure in the trade. His style of sophistication and attention to detail and shape of the products he makes, bring out the wearer’s inner beauty in full glory.
