Being an online portal one doesn’t expect us to participate in on-the-ground events like exhibitions. After all an online portal is supposed to be only selling online and make all promotion related efforts in the cyber world through tools like PPC, SEO etc.
Over the last 12 months of being launched, we realized that we needed to share our story and cause with our potential patrons and one of the best ways of doing it would be to be in front of these patrons with our story and our offerings. That way they would get to meet the people behind zarood and review the creations of master crafters with whom we work.
Today we would like to share our experiences of participating in on-the-ground marketing events and interacting with the potential patrons.
Little did we realize the nuances of participation in any on-the-ground events?
Our first event was at a weekend exhibition organized in New Delhi Area. We were nervous as it was our first exhibition and we were sceptical about our presentation, the products we carried and the overall setup. We must admit that we started on a low note and slowly picked up pace by lunch time. By the time we closed the display at about 8 pm, we were brimming with confidence. Our products and positioning had a over whelming response and the patrons had liked and purchased most of our items.
Building on this, we went on to participate in the much acclaimed Kala Ghoda Art Festival in Mumbai and witnessed a similar response. We were welcomed with open arms and the response was similar to our first experience.
It has now been 5 months that we have been regularly participating in exhibition events held at the German House, New Delhi, University of Delhi and EPICENTER Gurgaon (now Gurugram).
Over these events, our understanding of the customers’ mindset, their expectation and our ability to meet those expectations has increased. This overwhelming has motivated us to develop newer range of products like Necklaces in Golden Grass, Madhubani Painting, Speciality Paper, Rajasthani Miniature Paintings, Bookmarks in Golden Grass etc.
We are now confident of developing newer forms of fusion products by mixing traditional art forms and contemporary styles.
Do look out for ZAROOD at an exhibition near you !
