Savita had a chance to attend one of the workshops conducted by Sanni Gupta in Patna. It was in this workshop that she found her skill for fine art and craft and developed a likening for Golden Grass Art Form. Savita is a proud member of her family who is adding to their income and thus well being. “हम बिहार के एक मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार के हैं और मेरे पति को छोटा सा कारोबार है । मैं दसवीं कक्षा तक पढ़ी हूँ और शाद्दी के बाद से अपने घर ग्रहस्ती में व्यस्त रहती थी | मुझे शुरू से ही हाथ के काम करना अच्छा लगता था | मेरे २ बच्चे हैं और मैं सिक्की घास के काम से अपने घर की आमदनी में वृद्धि कर पाती हूँ | मैं चाहती हूँ की मेरे बच्चे पढ़ लिख कर आगे बढ़ें और एक अच्छे इंसान बनें | "
English Translation
“We belong to a middle class family of Bihar and my husband has a small work. I have studied till 10th class and after my marriage I used to spend most of the time doing my usual household chores. From the very beginning I have always liked to do handicraft work. I have 2 children and I now make Golden Grass (Sikki Grass) souvenirs and add to the family income. I hope that my children study well and be successful and become good persons. "
