Muskaan is a place that believes in spreading smiles. We cater to those with intellectual disability and look after their special needs. To make sure that they become self sufficient at day-to-day activities is our primary aim. Working with them has taught us significant human values like, unconditional love, living in the present, faith, innocence, and freedom from egoism.
"Muskaan", a voluntary "not for profit" organization came into being in 1982 when a group of parents and professionals came together because they was dissatisfied with the absence of services for their children affected by down syndrome.
Today, we have grown as a premier institute in Delhi providing comprehensive education including vocational training and work opportunities . We advocate for their rights as our society at large still fails to recognize their human rights.
When we named our society as ‘Muskaan', little did we know that somewhere our daily ‘Muskaans' had faded in quest for ‘Normalcy'. Working with them taught us a shift from ‘disability' to ‘diversity' - a wonderful lesson for bringing people together.
